We are delighted to announce that we have managed to secure funding from the National Lottery Awards for all Scheme for the 2015 festival.
The grant will allow us to develop the festival this year with an improved stage and PA.
“On one level the festival is about providing an opportunity for up and coming bands and engineers to experience working on a professional stage, with a professional PA system. The upgraded stage and PA that the funding has allowed us to bring in mean that the experience they get will be that much closer to that of a big festival.” explains Duncan Wright, one of the festival organisers. “For festival goers that means they get to hear the breaking bands from the North West as they would hear the top bands playing at top festivals this summer.”
Whats more it has allowed us to maintain our ticket policy which is come along, and enjoy the music, and if you value what we are doing, then make a donation to keep the festival going.
This year at Bankswood Inspire, you will hear the same bands that are playing on the stages of the other top local festivals, and you will hear them at their best. But unlike other festivals, we don’t charge £40-£50 for a ticket. In fact if you want, you can come along and enjoy the music for free. All that we ask is that if you do enjoy the day, then make a small donation (we suggest £5/head). to the future running of the festival.
“We also try to make Bankswood Inspire a truly family affair” continues Duncan “Young families & music festivals usually don’t mix, but we understand that just because you have young children doesn’t mean you stop loving live music, so we try to mix the best breaking music with thinks that will keep the kid entertained, and the fact that all this happens in the afternoon means you to get the best of both worlds.”
Support from the Lottery has meant that we are able to stick to our original principals of a community festival, accessible to all, that gives great training & experience to those up and coming in the industry.
It’s a win win situation.
