With a love of music since he was a toddler, Lucas started playing the drums at the age of five, performing in school talent shows and at friends’ parties. Having taken up guitar playing at eleven, he started singing and songwriting two years later, performing at public gigs and busking locally. The birthday present of a loop pedal transformed his musical output. Lucas used his knowledge of drumming to add beats into the loop and soon discovered the power of vocal harmonies, merging together his looped instrumentals and vocals to spectacular effect.
Over the past year Lucas has performed at venues including Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, The Exchange in Keighley, Gaslight Club at Oporto in Leeds, The Venue in Skipton, Factory Street Studios in Bradford, Orangebox in Halifax and Bradford Brew Factory. He has been a guest artist on BCB Radio and appeared at Routes, Plan B (formerly Aire Do), Bradford Brewery, Saltaire and Shuttle Shuffle festivals.
Lucas has been praised and complimented on his style and performance. His set at Routes Festival 2015 was described by a festival judge as: “A beautiful building loop set which absolutely filled the room with sound. Amazing to see what this guy can do with just a guitar and a pedal.” Lucas has big ambitions for the future, but at the moment he is concentrating on gaining more extensive gig experience, writing new songs and working with local music producers and artists to create and release his first single in 2016.
